Powder Coating

CAPABLE OF PROCESSING BIG ITEMS

8m x 2.6m

Our powder coating plant and zinc phosphate pre-treatment system allows us to accommodate items up to 8m x 2.6m. There are eight stages of preparation prior to powder coating, with inspection and temperature testing taking place at each stage.

ANY COLOUR OR TEXTURE

We can powder coat in any colour on black steel, galvanised and aluminium products, from one-off special items to batches. Powder coating is applied as a free-flowing, dry powder that, unlike a conventional liquid paint, does not require a solvent.

It is typically applied electro-statically and then cured under heat that causes it to flow and form a skin that's tougher than conventional paint. The powder may be a thermoplastic or a thermo-set polymer.

POWDER COATING v CONVENTIONAL LIQUID PAINT

There are several advantages to using powder coating over conventional liquid paint.

image

It gives off zero or near zero volatile organic compounds (VOC)

image

Can produce thicker coatings without running or sagging

image

Overspray can be recycled to achieve nearly 100% use of the coating

image

It produces less hazardous waste than conventional liquid coatings

Items generally have a more consistent appearance

A wider range of effects is possible than with other processes.
